Ron Tonkin Field is now Hillsboro Ballpark as Naming Right Deal Expires

Attention all baseball enthusiasts and Hops fans, gather 'round for some exciting news straight from the diamond! After a thrilling decade of partnership between the Ron Tonkin Family of Dealerships and the esteemed Hillsboro Hops, a change-up is on the horizon. Brace yourselves, because it's time to unveil the fresh new moniker: "Hillsboro Ballpark"!

For the past ten years, the Hops have called Ron Tonkin Field their home turf, a name paying homage to the late Ron Tonkin, courtesy of Ed and Brad Tonkin. However, as of 2022, Ed and his son Adam Tonkin have stepped into the ownership box for the Hops, bringing with them a wave of excitement and change.

In the words of Ed Tonkin himself, "The Tonkin family has enjoyed having the Hops ballpark named 'Ron Tonkin Field' in memory of our father." But with new ownership comes new opportunities, and the Tonkin family is proud to be part of this exhilarating chapter for the Hillsboro Hops.

But fear not, loyal fans! This rebranding doesn't mean saying farewell to familiar turf. Hillsboro Ballpark will continue to be the Hops' home base through the 2025 season, ensuring that the cheers and excitement remain as vibrant as ever.

Let's take a moment to salute the Tonkin Family of Dealerships for their unwavering support over the past decade. Without their dedication, the Hillsboro Ballpark wouldn't shine quite as bright. And let's give a hearty welcome to Ed and Adam Tonkin as they step into their new roles within the Hops ownership group.

Lastly, a tip of the cap to the City of Hillsboro and all the fans who've stood by the team through thick and thin. Your support fuels the spirit of the game, and we're beyond grateful. So, grab your peanuts and Cracker Jacks, because under the lights of Hillsboro Ballpark, the game is about to begin. Go Hops!

The Hillsboro Hops will be opening their 11th season in Hillsboro on April 5th at Hillsboro Ballpark against the Seattle Mariners’ High-A affiliate, Everett AquaSox. For more information on promotions and tickets visit hillsborohops.com or call 503-640-0887.
