The Dressember Movement Raising Awareness For Human Trafficking

DRESSEMBER 2019: Every day during December, we wear a dress or tie to bring awareness and collect donations to end slavery and sex trafficking. For one month with the dress as our flag, we will carve a path to a better future for people everywhere. Your support will fund holistic, life-saving prevention, rescue, and aftercare through our programmatic partners.

Below, Jennifer Johnson talks about being a Dressember Advocate:

Every day during December, I am wearing a dress to bring awareness and collect donations to end slavery and sex trafficking. For one month with the dress as my flag, I will carve a path to a better future for people everywhere.

Your support will fund holistic, life-saving prevention, rescue, and aftercare through our programmatic partners.

I am so excited to have the opportunity and the ability to stand up for those who cannot stand for themselves.

One statement that always bothers me is that slavery is worse now, in 2019, than it has ever been. In the 21st century, we are allowing this injustice to flourish and continue. We are allowing it to ruin the lives of many amazing people.

Anyone can fall a victim to human trafficking. Your 10 year old sister, your best friend from college, your neighbor, anyone. And it takes many forms. Forced labor, child marriage, sex work.

My goal this year is much larger than last year because I believe I can reach it and expand my impact.

By joining me, donating to my campaign, or sharing my words, you can do your part in putting an end to this injustice. Just $5 can help change someone’s life. $25 can fund a basic care package for a survivor. $6,716 is the cost of a full rescue mission.

No matter how you are able to support, it truly matters. If you can, please consider supporting this cause. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me or visit https://www.dressember2019.org . Thank you very much.
